Dining

There is a range of dining options at Hemingways from fine dining in the first floor restaurant, to a more relaxed menu at the brasserie on the ground floor. Afternoon tea on the terrace is accompanied by relaxing views of the Ngong Hills. At the fine restaurant, great care is taken on sourcing of ingredients, most of the vegetables served are grown on Hemingway’s farms in the Great Rift Valley, the beef served has been grain fed for 180 days especially for Hemingways, and hung for 21 days to ensure only the best steaks make it on to your plate. Fresh fish and shellfish are flown up daily from Watamu. Hemingways is bringing new vigor to the dining scene in Kenya. The menus are contemporary European in style, characterized by a focus on retro-classics with an ultra-modern twist.

Nairobi is a modern multi-ethnic metropolis and home to more than 4 million people. Culturally vibrant, the city hosts theatre, concerts and fine dining. There are plenty of clubs, casinos, malls and coffee shops to keep global traveler entertained.

CLIMATE

High on a hilltop near the equator, Nairobi and its surroundings enjoy a temperate climate most of the year. At an altitude of 1 700 meters, or 5,500 feet, humidity is very low and nights are cool. The summer months are sunny and hot but not unbearable. The winters are mild, but never shiveringly cold. There are two monsoon periods and rainfall is moderate. The wettest months of the year are April and May, when days are typically cloudy often with downpours.
